Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the plans as a present and future layout and note two important changes: the centre will expand, and a leisure pool and dance studios will be added. You also correctly state that the 25m pool remains. However, the overview is vague (“looking good”) and does not clearly summarise the main transformation. Several details are missing or inaccurate: the outdoor courts are on both sides in the present plan, while the future plan adds a sports hall, two dance studios, a sports shop and additional changing rooms. “Free pool” is not shown; the new facility is a leisure pool. To strengthen the report, describe the main changes accurately and compare the west and east sides without personal opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, an attempted overview and separate paragraphs for the current and future layouts, so there is some basic organisation. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow, and several ideas are joined in long, unclear strings, particularly the description beginning “in the present time” and the final paragraph. Connectors such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore” and “first of all” are used, but they do not consistently show clear relationships between features. Some references, including “next side,” are unclear. Organise the details by location—for example, west side, central area and east side—and use straightforward links such as “whereas,” “in addition” and “by contrast” to make the comparisons easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing a plan, including “reception,” “seating area,” “25m pool,” “changing room” and “dance studio.” This shows a basic range connected to the task. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are frequent enough to make parts of the description difficult to understand, as in “universty,” “weast,” “chamge” and “free polll.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unsuitable for an objective report: “looking good,” “sports person” and “I think its good change” do not describe the layout clearly. Build a reliable set of location and change terms, and check the spelling of labels from the plan. Prefer precise phrases such as “to the west of” and “will be added.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

There are attempts to describe both present and future arrangements, and you use some simple linking structures. However, sentence forms are limited, and errors in sentence construction, tense, articles and punctuation frequently make the meaning hard to follow. For example, “Overall, it will be clearly seen, that university sports centre in future looking good” lacks a complete, well-formed clause, while “the area will be increase” uses an incorrect verb form. The long sentence beginning “in the present time” also combines several features without clear grammatical boundaries. Practise writing short, complete sentences first, then combine related details with accurate clauses. Use consistent future forms such as “will be added” and check articles and sentence punctuation.
