Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the broad contrast between the small present centre and the expanded future facility, and you mention several genuine additions, including a leisure pool, sports hall, dance studios, shop and café. However, the account only partially reports the plans: important existing features and their positions are confused. For example, the gym is north of the pool, while reception is south; the response places both “above pool.” The future 25m pool remains, but the description that it is “instead of these things” is unclear, and the claim that reception changes is not supported by the plan. To strengthen the response, give a clear overview of the expansion and accurately compare the retained central facilities with the new west and east sections.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, an overview and two body paragraphs, so there is an attempt to organise the description into sections. It also uses basic linking expressions such as “In addition” and “while.” However, progression is difficult to follow because features are not grouped consistently by location or by present and future layout. The first body paragraph moves from outdoor courts to the pool, then to reception and new facilities without a clear sequence; the second repeats future additions already mentioned. Some connections are also unclear, particularly “while According to future plan.” Organise the report by describing the current layout first, then the planned changes, and use clear references such as “to the west of the pool” to guide the reader.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “redevelopment,” “25m pool,” “dance studio,” “leisure pool” and “sports hall,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “in future” and “extra.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “differene,” “receeption,” “lesiure” and “look up fot this,” which make parts of the description harder to understand. Some expressions are imprecise for describing a plan, including “small portion of gym” and “extra things.” Build a more accurate set of location and change terms, and check spelling carefully before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, for example, “Now the university sports center have only two outside courts” and the sentence beginning “In addition to there is…”. However, the longer constructions are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, articles, sentence boundaries and punctuation sometimes make relationships between features unclear. Examples include “center have,” “there will some extra rooms,” and “the university sports center will also have pool.” Capitalisation is inconsistent, and several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation. Practise forming accurate basic comparisons first, then combine ideas using controlled clauses—for example, “The gym is north of the pool, while reception is to its south.”
