The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The map depicts changes planned to make in university sports centre in the future and how it looks at the present. Overall, several developments are planned, including leisure pool, dance studios, sports hall, and an additional changing rooms will be built.

In the present, the map shows two outdoor courts at both sides of the reception, which will be replaced by construction of two dance studios in the East while a leisure pool in the West side of reception. Additionally, a cafe will be formed in front of reception, as well as two more changing rooms will be developed, once in front of the leisure pool and an other in the East, behind the cafe. Finally, a sports shop will be constructed in South-West region and a sports hall in front of dance studios. However, the location of reception, and a 25m long central pool, and gym will remain unchanged.
