Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the task by describing the current layout and the proposed redevelopment. However, the overview is weak and lacks a clear summary of the most significant changes. While the student identifies the conversion of outdoor courts and the addition of new facilities, the description is somewhat repetitive and lacks a professional, analytical tone. The inclusion of personal commentary, such as 'I will give overview about that changs', is inappropriate for an Academic Task 1 response. To improve, focus on grouping information logically (e.g., what is removed vs. what is added) rather than listing features in a way that mirrors the map's layout too closely.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into paragraphs, but the flow is hindered by awkward transitions and repetitive sentence structures. The use of cohesive devices is basic and sometimes mechanical, such as the frequent use of 'In addition' and 'Also'. The paragraphing is present but the internal logic within paragraphs is disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two maps. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would significantly enhance the coherence of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'change', 'add', and 'side'. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'recepyion', 'redevlopment', 'leistsure', 'moerover') which occasionally impede readability. The student struggles to use precise terminology for describing spatial relationships or architectural changes. To reach a higher band, the student should incorporate more varied vocabulary related to maps and trends, such as 'relocated', 'transformed', 'expanded', or 'demolished', and pay closer attention to accurate spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('The maps illustrates', 'gym was remove'), article usage ('the is recepyion'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain run-on structures that lack proper punctuation. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. To improve, the student should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring consistent verb tenses when describing future changes, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms.
