Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to describe the changes, but it fails to provide a clear overview or a structured comparison between the 'now' and 'future' layouts. The information is presented in a fragmented manner, focusing on listing additions rather than summarizing the transformation of the space. Key features, such as the removal of outdoor courts to accommodate new facilities, are not clearly highlighted. The response lacks an analytical approach, instead providing a somewhat disjointed list of locations. To improve, you should group information logically (e.g., new facilities vs. expanded existing ones) and ensure a clear summary of the main trends is provided in the introduction.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks a clear paragraph structure, with an informal 'Summery' heading and a lack of logical progression between sentences. Cohesive devices are largely absent or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'The location of...' and 'on the...'. The flow of information is mechanical and difficult to follow, as the description jumps between different areas of the plan without a clear spatial logic. To improve, use transition words like 'Furthermore', 'In contrast', or 'Additionally' to link ideas, and organize the response into distinct paragraphs for the introduction, overview, and body details.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'add', 'location', and 'side'. There are several instances of non-standard word usage, such as 'inhence' (enhance) and 'gym guys'. The phrasing is often unnatural, which hinders the precision required for a Task 1 report. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise vocabulary related to spatial descriptions, such as 'situated', 'adjacent to', 'replaced by', 'expanded', and 'converted'. Avoid informal language and focus on using accurate terminology to describe the layout changes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('This picture show'), article usage ('the university administration'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'Which are planed for the future'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic structures limits the score. To improve, focus on mastering simple sentence construction, correct verb tenses, and consistent punctuation before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
