Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the task by identifying the main features of the current and future sports centre. However, the overview is slightly disjointed, and some details are inaccurate or confusingly presented. For example, the text mentions that the 'changing room' will be built in the future, yet it also states it will remain in the same place. This inconsistency hinders the clarity of the report. While the main features are covered, the comparison between the two maps lacks precision, and the description of the layout changes is somewhat repetitive. To improve, ensure that the overview clearly highlights the most significant changes, such as the expansion of the gym and the conversion of outdoor courts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, the phrase 'Furthermore, changing room and sports shop will be build at on the left side' contains awkward phrasing and a broken sentence structure. The transition between the description of the current layout and the future plans is not always smooth. While the overall progression is logical, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the occasional confusion in referencing make the flow feel somewhat disjointed. Improving the variety of cohesive devices would enhance the readability.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several spelling errors ('consto', 'leasure', 'roomm', 'enterance', 'construced') and some awkward word choices. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying heavily on basic terms like 'place' and 'side'. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or precise collocations related to describing maps or architectural changes. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more varied and precise vocabulary, such as 'transformed', 'relocated', 'extended', or 'adjacent to', and ensure that spelling is accurate throughout the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and prepositions, such as 'will be remain' instead of 'will remain' and 'will be build' instead of 'will be built'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, and there are errors in subject-verb agreement. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar structures prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on consistent verb tense usage and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would be highly beneficial.
