The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The plans illustrate the layout of a university's sports center now and its appearance after redevelopment.
Overall, the area is expected be more developed with the introduction of facilities such as leisure pool, changing rooms, sports shop, sports hall, and the cafe. However, some features will remain unchanged while others will be removed.
Currently, the central area is largely covered by a pool which is near the reception, a changing room on its left and a seating area on its right. According to the redevelopment plan, the central region will remain unchanged.
Just on the left side of the reception which has nothing currently, a sports shop will be build and a changing room will constructed on its far end. A cafe will also be located on the right side of the reception and another changing room will be constructed immediately after the cafe on the same side. The outdoor courts on the left side will be converted to a leisure pool while the one on the right will be replaced by a sports hall. Finally, a dance studio will be introduced on the north eastern area.
