IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The maps illustrate the changes that have taken place in an university sports center between the present day and a proposed future development.
Overall, it is evident that the area is undergo significant commercialization and infrastructure expansion. The main changes involve an introduction of multiple dance studios, changing rooms, shopping facility transforming the currently undeveloped place into a highly urbanize zone.
The current map features western outdoor courts running horizontally and reception area running vertically, intersecting top area and divided the area. in the northern edge, there is a gym, to the east of an university sport center lies a seating area estate. in the centre pool is build
Turning to the proposed future development, further changes are expected to take place, the west outdoor courts are planned to be replace by leisure pool, while changing rooms are expected to expanded, In addition new dancing room will be constructed and eastern outdoor courts converted into new sports hall. However, 25m pool , seating area, reception and gym expected to remain unchanged.
