The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given pair of maps depicts the information about the development of university’s sports centre which will be done.

Overall, it is crystal clear that the whole infrastructure of university’s sports centre will be redeveloped but reception and pool will remained untouched.

At a fleeting glance, it is evident that the sports centre consists of a central 25-metre pool surrounded by a gym to the north, changing room on both sides and a reception area in south. In addition, there are there are two outdoor courts located on eastern and western sides of building.

According to the future plan, the most significant change will be removal of outdoor courts. The western court will be replaced by a leisure pool, while the eastern court will be redeveloped into a sports hall. Two dance studios will be added on the far eastern side. Furthermore, new facilities such as a sports shop, a cafe and additional changing rooms will be constructed along the southern part of complex.
