IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The two maps compare the present layout of the university sports center with the planned redevelopment of the area.

Overall, the area will be more modernized and well-organized, sustainable changes are planned, including the construction of a leisure pool, dance studios and a café, although the gym and the reception area will be unchanged.

Regarding the current layout, focusing on the northern side of the map, it can be noticed that gym has observed. In the middle part of layout, 25m rectangle shaped pool has been located. Meanwhile, in the right side of pool, seating area have been built. Changing room are constructed in west side of map. the reception has located in south part of centre.

Turning to the future plan, there will be several changes can be seen, in the western part of the area, leisure pool will be build. the changing room, gym and 25m pool will remained unchanged. To right-hand side of map, dance studios will be constructed. in south part, café and sports shops will be observed.
