IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The given diagram compares the layout of the university sports center with its proposed developments.
Overall, sports center will undergo a considerable changes where three separate buildings will be combined to create one large sports center along with the introduction of various outdoor areas for dance studio, changing room, leisure pool and cafe.
To begin with, the west side of the university sports center where outdoor courts area are currently located will be replaced by the leisure pool with a attached changing room will be build to the of the pool and a sports shop will be located next to the changing room. The middle area is planned to remain unchanged.
On the eastern side, the smaller outdoor court will be replaced by the sports hall while the gym area will be extended more towards right side. Additionally, two dancing studios will be constructed. In the south-east side, there will be separate changing room for sports hall and the cafe is planned next to that room.
