IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The diagrams illustrate the map of a university sports centre and it's proposed development plan. Overall, the central area of the sports centre will remain unchanged while the major development will be observed in the outdoor courts by converting them into dance studios, changing rooms, pool and sports hall.
The present design of the university sports ground contain a reception leading towards the central pool of 25m with adjacent changing room, gym and area for seating. Two outdoor courts are aslo present on both sides of the central hall.
Turning to the future development plan, the central area of the sports centre will not be changed. The major changes will be made in outdoor courts by converting them into lesiure pool and adjacent changing room on west side while the east side of the courts will be converted into a sports hall with two dance studios. A cafe and a sports shop will be built on both sides to the entrance.
