IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The plans illustrate how the university's sport centre looks currently and will be looking in the future after implementing the plans.
Overall, an extension plan has been taken for the sports centre where the outdoor courts from the both side of the facility will be brought under the same roof and replaced by new establishments.
Firstly, the space from the west side outdoor courts will be used for a leisure pool, whereas, sports hall and two dance studio will be constructed over that of the east side. Moreover, the gym will be extended to the east and the number of changing room will be increased from one to three in three different directions.
Last but not the least, there will be a sports shop on the left and a cafe on the right of the main entrance, before the reception. Other than that, the reception, the seating area and the pool will remain in the same position like the present day.
