IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The map depicts the blueprint of a university sports center before and after the refurbishment.

Overall, the design shows that the center will be enclosed inside the building which was open earlier with division in three parts.

To start with the layout, the west and east sides of the current layout has outdoor courts which will be converted into leisure pool on the west side and sports all in the east side. Moreover, the front west side will have changing rooms and sports shop while east side will have cafe and changinf room.

Furthermore, far east area will have two dance studios. As per the present diagram there is an indoor pool in the center of the building along with reception area and seating areas which will not be replaced int he future, however, the gym in the back of the center pool will be widened covering pool, seating and sports all in the new print.
