The diagram illustrate how the university's sports centre will be redeveloped .Overall the centre will be expanded with several new facilities added ,while the core features such as gym, 25m pool, reception and seating will remain in the same place.

At present, the building contains a centre area with a reception at the entrance, a 25m pool in the middle, a gym to the north, changing rooms to the west and seating area to the east .Outsides there are outdoor courts on the both west and east sides.

Under the future plans, the two outdoor courts are replaced by indoor facilities. On the west side one outdoor court will become leisure pool with a changing rooms and sports shop in the south side. On the east side outdoor courts will be replaced by sports hall ,a cafe and changing room and two dance studios are added to the east side.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all key features of the plans, including the current layout and the proposed redevelopments. You successfully identified the core areas that remain unchanged and highlighted the significant additions, such as the leisure pool, sports hall, and dance studios. The overview provides a clear summary of the main trends. To reach a higher band, ensure that all comparisons are precise; for instance, you mention 'two dance studios are added to the east side' but could more explicitly contrast this with the removal of the outdoor courts to better demonstrate the 'before and after' comparison required by the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs describing the current and future states, and a summary. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different stages of the development. Cohesive devices such as 'At present' and 'Under the future plans' help guide the reader through the timeline. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and the use of referencing could be more varied. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, and the information is presented in a way that is easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'redeveloped', 'facilities', and 'structure' correctly. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'centre area' (central area) and 'on the both west and east sides' (on both the west and east sides). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the meaning, it lacks the sophistication and precision required for higher bands. Incorporating more precise descriptive language regarding the layout changes would enhance your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement ('The diagram illustrate') and missing articles ('a leisure pool', 'a changing room'). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are some spacing issues before periods. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
