Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main features of the plans, such as the addition of the sports hall and dance studio, and identifies what remains unchanged. However, the description of the layout is often confusing and inaccurate. For instance, the text mentions a 'South Hall' in the 'Southwest', which is not clearly supported by the visual data. Furthermore, the spatial descriptions are imprecise, making it difficult for the reader to visualize the changes. To improve, focus on accurately reporting the specific locations of new facilities and ensuring that the comparisons between the 'now' and 'future' layouts are logically presented and factually aligned with the provided diagram.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical or misused, such as the transition 'In future plan' or 'Now a days'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly when describing the location of facilities. The flow between sentences is hindered by repetitive sentence structures and a lack of varied linking words. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices to connect ideas more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'layout', 'area', and 'part'. There are several instances of awkward word choices and inaccuracies, such as 'convered' (covered), 'is consists of' (consists of), and 'eastwest area'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of the description. To improve, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to maps and spatial descriptions, such as 'situated', 'adjacent to', 'replaced by', or 'extended'. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives and verbs will help you convey the information more effectively and professionally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the readability of the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('the west area are convered', 'the layout is consists of'), incorrect verb tenses ('gym and changing room will remained unchanged'), and missing articles. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, these are often faulty, leading to confusion. The majority of sentences contain errors, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb forms, and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
