Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the redevelopment plan, identifying the key changes such as the new sports hall, dance studios, and the leisure pool. However, the overview is slightly weak; it lists features rather than highlighting the most significant trends, such as the expansion of the facility into a more comprehensive, enclosed complex. Some details are slightly inaccurate, such as the claim that 'all areas are enclosed within a single building,' which is not fully supported by the visual evidence. While the main features are reported, the comparison between the 'now' and 'future' states could be more analytical to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organised into logical paragraphs, moving from an introduction to an overview and then into specific details. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Nevertheless, in the north-east and south-east direction...' and 'Also, from the entrance if take right then...'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the referencing is occasionally imprecise, making it slightly difficult for the reader to follow the exact spatial changes described. Paragraphing is used, but the internal flow between sentences could be smoother.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to describe the layout and changes. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'redevelopment' and 'enclosed', but there are also instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'present picture', 'make this place more attracted', and 'remains on the same place'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the description. A wider range of collocations related to spatial description would improve the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('outdoor courts is now replaced', 'two dance studios has been established') and article usage ('in the right side of the Seating'). Prepositional errors are also present ('in the south west', 'on the left and right side'). While these errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text, they rarely impede the reader's understanding of the information provided.
