Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the plan, including the key additions and modifications. You successfully identified the expansion of the gym, the addition of the leisure pool, and the new facilities like the cafe and sports shop. However, the description of the outdoor courts is slightly confusing; you mention they are 'included in the sports centre' and then used for dance studios, which is a bit contradictory. To reach a higher band, ensure that the spatial relationships are described with absolute precision. The overview is clear, but the report could benefit from more explicit comparisons between the 'before' and 'after' states to highlight the scale of the transformation more effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'At present', 'On the other hand', and 'In addition' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase 'along that is sports hall'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the current layout from the proposed changes. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the flow between sentences is smoother, particularly when describing complex spatial changes.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'reconstruction', 'renovated', 'accommodate', and 'depicts'. There are some minor spelling errors, such as 'recontruction' and 'accomodate', and some awkward phrasing like 'facing the south pole' (which is geographically confusing in the context of a floor plan). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main points, it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. Focusing on more precise collocations related to architectural changes would enhance your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'considerable changes are made' (should be 'have been made'), 'seatings are arranged' (seating is usually uncountable), and 'a cafe and a sports shop is installed' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some missing commas that would help clarify your sentences. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage when describing future plans.
