The maps illustrate the difference between the university sports center's current and future changes that will occur after reconstruction.
Overall, converting the existing outdoor courts into a central leisure area. The reception, pool, and changing area, as well as seating, remain in their original positions, but a number of new amenities will be set to be introduced.
Firstly, on the northwestern side of the center, outdoor courts will change into leisure pools, while there will be an addition of a changing room adjacent to the leisure pool on the southwestern corner. On the left side of the entrance there will be a sports shop, and there will be a cafe on the right side of the entrance.
Furthermore, there will be the addition of dance studios, one on the northeastern corner and the other on the eastern side of the center. The changing room will have adjacent seating on the east side, while the gym will be on the north side of the center. The gym will be on the north side of the center.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response successfully identifies the main features of the redevelopment plan. You have clearly contrasted the current layout with the proposed changes, such as the conversion of outdoor courts into leisure pools and the addition of new facilities like the cafe and dance studios. The overview is clear and highlights the most significant changes. However, the response could be improved by providing more precise spatial descriptions; for instance, the location of the gym is mentioned twice, and the description of the 'eastern side' could be more specific regarding the layout. Overall, you have covered all parts of the task well and provided a clear summary of the key information.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and an overview. You use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'while' to link ideas effectively. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different areas of the sports center. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally slightly mechanical. To reach a higher band, ensure that referencing is precise; for example, when mentioning the gym, you repeat the same sentence structure twice, which disrupts the flow. Overall, the progression of information is clear and easy to follow throughout the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'reconstruction', 'amenities', 'adjacent', and 'converting'. These words are used accurately and help convey the meaning clearly. There is some repetition of basic directional language (e.g., 'side of the center'), which limits the sophistication of the response. To improve, try to incorporate more varied synonyms for location and change, such as 'situated', 'relocated', 'transformed', or 'incorporated'. The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the information without difficulty, but it lacks the flexibility and precision required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical inaccuracies, such as the phrase 'a number of new amenities will be set to be introduced', which is slightly awkward. Additionally, the sentence 'The gym will be on the north side of the center' is repeated verbatim, which is a stylistic error. While there are some errors in phrasing, they do not impede communication. To improve, focus on varying your sentence structures and ensuring that your verb tenses are consistent when describing future plans. You have a good grasp of basic grammar, but more complex structures need to be used with greater accuracy.
