IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The picture depicts the present and the future plan of a sports center in a university. The changes are visible from an overview of the plan and a direction key is given as well.

In the present plan the main elements are gym, changing room, seating, pool, reception, and outdoor courts whereas in the future plan, there are additional elements as sports hall, a dancing studio, a leisure pool, two additional changing rooms, sports shop, and a cafe.

It is cleary visible that the new plan would expand in space as there are totally new elements adding up to the plan and some elements multiplying such as the Changing rooms. Moreover the there are elements that are being expanded such as the gym. However there are few items that would remain same through out both the plans such as the reception and the seating and the twety five square meter pool.
