IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The assigned maps illustrate current look of a university’s sport centre and changes that are going to be made under renovation.

Overall, at present a sport centre is restricted to fewer facilities; however, in future several amenities are expected to be available such as leisure pool, dance studios, cafe, changing rooms, and sport shops etc:

To commence with, currently a sport centre is equipped with outdoor courts on both sides west and east whereas in future outdoor courts will have been changed with leisure pool and sports hall. Moreover, the size of sport centre is projected to be enlarged. The reception area, pool, changing room will remain same in the centre. In order to make the centre more enjoyable two dance studios will be added to it.

Furthermore, centre would be more convenient with two more changing rooms on south west and south east corners. In Addition to this, members of the sports centre will also have access to café and sports shops.
