Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have successfully identified the main features of the sports centre plans, including the existing facilities and the proposed redevelopments. You provided a clear overview and highlighted key changes, such as the addition of the leisure pool, cafe, and dance studios. However, the response could be improved by providing more precise spatial descriptions. For example, instead of saying 'Northern side of it', you could specify the exact location relative to the pool. Additionally, the comparison between the two plans is somewhat brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that all key features are described with greater detail and that the comparison is more analytical rather than just descriptive.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, overview, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The progression of ideas is generally clear. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For instance, the transition 'Furthermore' is used effectively, but other links between sentences could be more varied. Additionally, there are some minor issues with referencing, such as 'The place is well utilized in future', which is slightly vague. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to describe the plans, such as 'redevelopment', 'infrastructures', and 'revolutionized'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'The plans below illustrates' should be 'The plans below illustrate', and 'The unchange section' should be 'The unchanged section'. Additionally, 'in present' is not the standard idiomatic expression; 'at present' or 'currently' would be more appropriate. While your vocabulary is adequate for the task, incorporating more precise terminology related to architectural layouts or spatial descriptions would help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'future plans includes') and missing articles (e.g., 'in center of map'). There are also minor punctuation and preposition errors, such as 'on right side' instead of 'on the right side'. These errors do not significantly impede communication, but they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher band score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and article usage will be beneficial.
