Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the sports centre plans, identifying both the current layout and the proposed redevelopment. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you mention the pools, sports hall, and dance studios, you fail to describe their specific locations or the spatial changes (e.g., the removal of the outdoor courts to make room for the new facilities). The summary lacks a clear overview of the most significant changes, such as the expansion of the facility's footprint. To improve, ensure you provide a more detailed comparison of the spatial layout rather than just listing the new additions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into three paragraphs, which is a standard structure. However, the logical flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. For example, the transition from the current facilities to the redevelopment plan is abrupt. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Additionally' and 'Moreover', they are used in a somewhat mechanical way. The referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'It is very basic things which is currently providing to access by students', which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the use of linking words to show contrast and sequence would enhance the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The range of vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You use the word 'develop' or 'developing' multiple times, and there are several spelling errors, such as 'aminites' instead of 'amenities' and 'seperately' instead of 'separately'. The phrasing is often unnatural, such as 'It is very basic things which is currently providing to access by students'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to architecture and layout, such as 'extended', 'replaced', 'relocated', or 'integrated', and ensure you check your spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'The plans below describes' (should be 'describe') and 'University sports centre currently have' (should be 'has'). Additionally, there are errors in tense usage, such as 'new aminites are going to add' (should be 'are going to be added') and 'two new dance studio is going to develop' (should be 'studios are going to be developed'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and the lack of control over complex structures limits the score in this criterion.
