The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The blueprint provided below illustrates the layout of a unviersity's sports centre at its current state, and how it will look like after refurbishment. The size of the sports centre will increase and new features will be added. Before redevelopment, there is a pool and a gym beyond the reception area. It has necessary facilities, like a seating area and changing room, attached to it. There are also two outdoor courts on either side, where various sports can be played. After redevelopment, the sports centre will have a leisure pool in addition to the 25 meter pool. An indoor sports hall will be developed instead of the two outdoor courts. Two dance studios will encourage a more contemporary form of exercise. A cafe and sports shop will be located near the reception for refreshments, confectioneries, and sports equipment. More number of changing rooms will be established for the convinience of students and other individuals visiting the univerity's sports centre. Thus, a clear up-size is noted after the refurbishment of the sports centre.
