Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response successfully covers all key features of the sports centre plans. You have identified the main changes, such as the removal of outdoor courts and the addition of new facilities like the leisure pool and sports hall. The overview is clear and highlights the transformation from an outdoor-focused facility to an indoor one. However, the response could be improved by providing more specific comparisons between the two layouts, such as noting the relative size or specific positioning of the new additions more precisely. Overall, the information is accurate and the task requirements are met.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs that follow a geographical progression (central, west, east). Cohesive devices such as 'In the central area', 'To the west', and 'On the eastern side' are used effectively to guide the reader through the maps. Paragraphing is appropriate, and the flow of information is easy to follow. To reach a higher band, ensure that referencing is always precise and avoid minor mechanical errors in sentence structure that occasionally disrupt the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'redevelopment', 'demolished', and 'transformed' appropriately. There are some minor errors in word choice and form, such as 'planed' instead of 'planned' and 'will changed' instead of 'will be changed'. While these do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations related to map descriptions, such as 'situated in the vicinity of' or 'undergo a complete overhaul'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'a outdoor courts' (article error), 'will changed' (passive voice error), and 'remained unchanged' (tense error). These errors are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on consistent verb tense usage when describing future plans and ensure subject-verb agreement. Despite these errors, the complexity of the sentences is sufficient for the task.
