The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The given plans show two layouts of a university's sports centre, where one layout shows the current situation of the sports centre while the other shows how it is going to look in the future.
One of the most compelling changes are going to occur in the outdoor courts as right now they are surrounding the sports centre at both the sides. Both of them will be made part of the sports centre. The space of the eastern outdoor courts will be used to make dance studios along with a part of it being added to the sports hall. Meanwhile, the space of the western outdoor courts will be used up to make a leisure pool.
Moreover, the area of the gym will be incresed while keeping the changing room at the western side and seating area as they were. Additionally, two more changings rooms will be constructed, one at the south-west corner with a sports shop beside it while the other at the south-east corner where a small cafe will be constructed alonside it.
Furthermore, the area occupied by the pool and the the reception will remain the same. No changes will be made to them.
