IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The diagram shows university sports centre's layout at present and the future plans of its renovation. Presently, there are two outdoor courts in the east and west direction while there's an indoor area including a gym, a changing room, seating, reception and a 25m pool area. The future plans are to make it all into an indoor area. Outdoor courts in the east and west directions will be ditched to make this indoor sports centre area larger than the present indoor area. The pool will remain 25m in area along with same area for changing room, seating and reception. Gym area will be visibly increased and there will bea big leisure pool in place of the west outdoor courts along with a changing room and a sports shop. Sports hall, dance studios, changing room and a cafe will be developed replacing the east outdoor courts. There will now be two changing rooms instead of one as per future plans. Overall, this will be a change for the better.
