IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The layout shows the current university sport centre and the proposed future plan

Overall, sport centre will be extended, with addition of new sports facilities including leisure pool and dance studio.

At present, there is one main building, with two outdoor courts on each side of it. As one enters into main sport centre, there is a reception desk. The most distingushing feauture is 25 km pool. To its north, locates gym, While, on its east side lies seating area and western side contains changing room.

In the future, the seperate buildings will be merged into one large facility which will make space for leisure pool on easten side along with changing room, The major developments will take place on the western side which will include construction of sports hall, dance studios. The remaining features will remain majorly unchanged, except gym area will be extended and two new changing rooms, each will be included on bottom end, the sport centre.
