The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The provided diagrams illustrate the present layout of a university sport centre and its proposed future redevelopment.
Overall, the sports centre is set to undergo significan changes, replacing both ourtdoor courts area with indoor facilities, while retaining the central core structure.
Curently, the centre feature a central building containing a 25m pool, a gym to the north, a changing room to the west, and seating to the east. Two outdoor courts occupied in the east and west of the sport centre.
In the future redevelopment, the main central building will remain unchanged, through the gym will expand to the north-eastern side. The boutdoor courts will be completly removed to make room for a new indoor developments. On the west side, a new leisure pool will be added, connected to the changing room. On the east side, the area previously obtained by outdoor courts will be replaced with a large sports hall, a dance studio will be added in the northeast corne and sports shop adjacent to the left side of entrance. Additionally, a new changi8ng room and a cafe will be constructed near a relocated larger entrance area to the southeast corner.
