IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The given picture represents the current as well as replanned layout of sports centre of a particular university.
In general, the swimming pool and reception area have been remained unchanged whereas there are major changes to the outdoor courts and also the spaces have been utilized for other purposes, such as changing room.
Moving into details, size of the pool has been remained same in future plans despite that a no leisure pool has been constructed replacing the outdoor courts of western side. In addition to that eastern outdoor spaces had been reallocated for sports hall along side two dance studios in new design. Likewise, gym area has been enlarged in comparison to previous allocation.
Adding up to that left and right side space from the entrance has been assigneg for sports shop and cafe respectively which will indeed add some cash flow to the centre. Moreover, in contrast to vacant space in the east and west bottom corner, two changing rooms had been placed there. Apart from these, changing room as well as seating area across swimming are left untouched in new design.
