The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.

Student answer (Band 7.0)
The two maps show the layout of a university sports centre now and how it will look after planned changes in the future.
Overall, the sports centre will see many new facilities added to it. While the central pool, gym, and reception will stay in the same place, the outdoor courts will be replaced by new indoor and outdoor features.
At present, the sports centre has a 25m pool in the middle, with a gym at the top, a reception at the bottom, a changing room on the left, and seating on the right. There are also two large outdoor courts on the left and right sides outside the main building.
In the future plan, the outdoor court on the left side will be removed and replaced by a new leisure pool and an extra changing room and sports shop. On the right side, the other outdoor court will be removed to make space for a new sports hall, two dance studios, a cafe and another changing room.
