IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The rendered maps depict the information about the changes that are estimated to take place in the sports centre of a university.
Overall, various alterations are expected to taken place in the sports centre. The major ones are addition of dance studio, cafe, leisure pool and every facility will be covered in the centre.
In the present time, the entrance is located in the south side of the centre in front of the reception desk, after entering there is a pool which is 25m long and on the right side of it there is a seating area, while on the opposite side changing room is situated. Behind the pool there is a gym. Apart from this, two outdoor courts are situated on the both sides of centre.
In the future, after entering into the centre there will be a cafe near to a changing room, whereas on the opposite side there will be another changing room along with a sports shop. Reception area, pool, seating area, changing room and gym are predicted to remain same after redevelopment. Interesdtingly, on the left and right sides of it there will be a leisure pool and sports hall, in order. Two dancing studios are estimated to be added in the north east corner of the centre.
