Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, stopping short at only 98 words, which heavily restricts its ability to address all parts of the task fully. While there is an attempt to provide an overview and mention some changes, such as the outdoor courts being removed and the pool area remaining unchanged, the information presented is incomplete and contains inaccurate details, such as claiming residential areas are being introduced. Ideas are limited and under-developed, resulting in a minimal response that only touches upon the surface of the visual data.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The text displays some basic organization with distinct paragraph breaks and a clear introductory sentence pointing out the two plans. However, there is no clear overall progression, and cohesive devices are either absent or inadequate. For instance, the transition "in future, however" is basic, and referencing between sentences is weak. Paragraphing is attempted, but the underdeveloped content prevents a logical and smooth flow throughout the response, leaving the overall structure disjointed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as spelling mistakes ("illustrates" instead of "illustrate", "remover" instead of "removed") and incorrect word choices ("residential" instead of commercial/sporting facilities). While the student attempts some less common vocabulary items like "considerable development" and "largely unchanged", the lexical control is weak, and errors in word form and choice occasionally cause difficulty or confusion for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, relying heavily on basic sentence structures with frequent errors. There are significant issues with verb forms and tenses, such as the fragment "several new residential and commercial facilities being introduced and outdoor courts being remover," which lacks a main finite verb. Other errors include missing articles ("In the West side") and incorrect passive constructions ("expent to construct"). These frequent grammatical errors disrupt the flow and can cause difficulty for the reader.
