Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response addresses the task only partially, presenting an overview of the plans but including irrelevant personal commentary and subjective evaluations, such as 'the map was developed by a professional architecture whom gave the centre a magnficant look' and 'leisure pool which gives a very good vibe.' While some main features are reported—such as the addition of a leisure pool, sports hall, and dance studios, and the retention of the 25m pool—the selection of details is incomplete and poorly focused. The progression is obscured by irrelevant remarks and a lack of clear comparison between the present and future layouts.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some overall organization with paragraphs separating the introduction, present plan, and future plan, but there is no clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are basic, repetitive, and sometimes misused, as seen in repetitive transitional phrases like 'On the first side' and 'On the second side.' Paragraphing is attempted, but sentences often run together without proper logical sequencing or referencing, making the text difficult to follow smoothly. The lack of standard discourse markers for spatial comparison limits the clarity of the relationships between different areas on the map.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, with frequent lexical errors that impact the precision of the description. Words are often chosen incorrectly or poorly collated, such as 're-development', 'outdoors courts', 'magnficant', 'ride side', and 'aalso'. There are also non-standard word forms and spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'Surprisngly' and 'architectur[e]'. The range is minimally adequate to convey basic features of the maps, but the presence of noticeable errors and non-academic phrasing restricts higher scoring.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The writer attempts a mix of sentence structures, but complex sentences are frequently faulty and contain frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. There are notable issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'all the things are common' and 'the new map have many directions', as well as missing or incorrect articles and prepositions (e.g., 'on the middle', 'infront of'). Punctuation is also problematic, with run-on sentences and comma splices throughout the response, such as 'gym and changing room were made this is the present map'. These frequent errors can cause some difficulty and strain for the reader.
