Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main change from outdoor courts to indoor facilities and mention several additions, including the leisure pool, dance studios, café and changing rooms. However, some key details are inaccurate or unclear: the courts are on the west and east, not the “northeast” and west, and the eastern courts are replaced by a sports hall as well as other facilities, rather than simply by the sports hall. The overview also says the gym and seating are in the north, although seating is east of the pool, and it incorrectly suggests the gym is left untouched when it extends eastward. To strengthen the response, give a more accurate overview of the building’s expansion and distinguish retained features from relocated or expanded ones.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an opening, an overview-like paragraph and further details, so there is some attempt to organise the information. However, the progression is difficult to follow because features are repeated and their locations are not consistently grouped. For example, the outdoor courts and sports hall are discussed more than once, while the west and east changes are mixed together. Linking phrases such as “However,” “Like whise,” and “In contrast” do not always show a clear relationship between the ideas that follow. Organise the report by first summarising the overall expansion, then describing the western side and the eastern side in turn. Use fewer, more precise connectors and clear references to each plan area.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for describing plans, including “layout,” “redevelopment,” “replace,” and “in the corner,” and the reader can recognise many of the facilities being discussed. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the description less clear, such as “sport centre,” “nepal,” “soprts hall,” “additional think,” and “corner sid.” Phrases such as “expected to left untouched” are also not natural ways to describe a plan. Build a more precise set of location and change expressions, for example “to the east of,” “will be converted into,” and “will be added.” Check spelling carefully, especially for facility names.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “which” and future forms such as “is expected to.” However, errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between features hard to understand. Examples include “the outdoor courts has located,” “the reception area have been situated,” and “was also expected left untouched,” which show problems with agreement, verb forms and missing grammatical elements. Tense and sentence construction are also inconsistent when comparing the present plan with future proposals. Practise using a reliable pattern such as “The courts are currently located…, but they will be replaced by…” and check subject–verb agreement, articles and verb forms in each sentence.
