Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify several relevant features, including the original pool, the gym and the two outdoor courts, and you mention planned additions such as the leisure pool, sports hall and dance studios. However, the response gives only a partial account of the plans and does not provide a clear overview of the main changes. Some details are inaccurate or unclear: the original changing room is west of the pool, but it is not described as being entered from reception; the future gym extends eastward, and the central pool, seating and reception remain in place, but these important features are omitted. The final paragraph does not summarise the redevelopment. To improve, compare the two layouts systematically and report the main retained, replaced and added facilities accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response follows a basic time sequence, moving from the present layout to the future plan, and uses linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion.” This gives the reader some sense of how the information is organised. However, the progression is not consistently clear: “Firstly” and “Secondely” introduce details without establishing a clear grouping, while “Probing ahead” is an awkward transition. Several sentences combine multiple observations, and the final conclusion is incomplete rather than a useful summary. Organise the report into a short overview followed by separate descriptions of the current and proposed layouts. Use directional references consistently, so readers can follow each feature without relying on unclear phrases such as “on our right side.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “layout,” “redevelopment,” “outdoor courts,” “leisure pool” and “dance studios,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate or informal. For example, “sport centre” is less natural than “sports centre,” and “outdoor hall” does not match the original outdoor courts. Repeated phrases such as “I can see from the figure” also make the description less precise. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “imformation,” “entrence,” “thay” and “sporst,” which can distract the reader. Build a more precise set of location and change verbs, such as “remain,” “be replaced by” and “be added to,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example, “Moreover, the there are two outdoor courts…” and “Another change is thay add sports hall…,” but these structures are often faulty. Errors in articles, agreement and sentence construction occur throughout: “The following images gives” should use a plural verb, while “the there are” contains an unnecessary article. Tense and clause patterns are also inconsistent, as in “before development is the gym is” and “they add leisure pool.” Most sentences rely on simple patterns, and these errors sometimes make relationships between features difficult to follow. Practise accurate comparative forms for plans, such as “The gym is located north of the pool in the current layout, while the future plan extends it eastward,” and proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
