Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main contrast between the relatively simple current centre and its expanded future layout, and you report several key changes, including the leisure pool, sports hall, dance studios, café and sports shop. The statement that the central part will remain the same is also a useful overview, although it would be more accurate to specify that the 25m pool, seating and reception retain their positions while the gym expands. Some details are unclear or inaccurate: the current changing room is west of the pool and seating is east, but you reverse these in your description. The future south-east café and changing room are also not clearly distinguished from the south-west shop and changing room. More precise coverage of these locations would make the account more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: it introduces the plans, describes the present layout, then the redevelopment, and ends with an overall statement. This gives the reader a coherent general progression. Linking expressions such as “however” and “Meanwhile” help signal contrasts, but some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “after entrance there is reception and after that it has pool” does not clearly explain the spatial sequence, and “on the left and right corners of reception” is difficult to map onto the plan. The final overview repeats the idea of significant change without adding much. Organise details by area—central, west and east—and use clear location references to strengthen progression and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “redevelopment,” “outdoor courts,” “leisure pool,” “sports hall” and “dance studio,” so the main features are generally understandable. However, word choice and collocation are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive: “the plans campare,” “what will changes,” “rome for changing,” and “the area ... will extended” weaken precision. “After entrance” and “at the back of pool” are also imprecise ways to describe locations on a plan. Spelling errors such as “campare” and “rome” are noticeable. Aim for accurate, consistent terms such as “to the west of,” “adjacent to,” and “will be converted into,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and longer sentences, including contrast structures such as “the central part ... will remained same, however...” This shows some range, but errors in verb forms, articles and sentence construction recur. Examples include “what will changes,” “will remained same,” and “the area ... will extended”; these should use forms such as “will change,” “will remain the same,” and “will be extended.” Articles and possessives are also often missing, as in “at the present situation university's sports centre” and “after entrance.” Several sentences join multiple ideas with commas, making the relationships harder to follow. Use shorter, accurately punctuated sentences where needed, while practising future passive forms to describe planned changes.
