Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main purpose of the plans and report several important changes, including the leisure pool, sports shop, sports hall, dance studios, café and new changing rooms. You also note that the 25m pool, seating and reception remain in place. However, the overview is vague: “changes for betterment of the learners” does not summarise the key overall transformation, especially the expansion of the building over the outdoor courts. Some locations are unclear or inaccurate, such as saying the gym joins the northern part without explaining that it extends eastward. The response is also 8 words below the required minimum. To develop the report, give a clearer overview and describe the main changes and their positions more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic structure, moving from an introduction and overview to a paragraph describing specific changes. Linking expressions such as “Additionally,” “Further,” and “Furthermore” help signal additions. However, the progression is mostly a list, and the repeated “it can be seen” construction makes the report feel mechanical. Several details are crowded into one long paragraph, so relationships between locations are not always easy to follow; for example, the sentence about the eastern courts, sports hall, dance studios and gym combines several changes without clear separation. Use a more purposeful sequence, such as describing retained central facilities first, then the western and eastern expansions, and use clearer references to distinguish each area.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “converted,” “leisure pool,” “sports hall,” “south west” and “south east,” so the reader can recognise many of the planned facilities. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors reduce precision: “university spots center,” “for betterment of the learners,” and “will be use” do not express the intended ideas naturally. There are also misspellings such as “reperesent,” “fiture” and “currentrly.” Aim for accurate, conventional terms such as “sports centre,” “redeveloped” and “located,” and check spelling carefully. More precise directional vocabulary would also help distinguish the building’s western, eastern and central areas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, for example the sentence beginning “Additionally, the outdoor courts…” This shows an effort to describe several changes together. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to process. Verb forms are often incorrect: “it will taken,” “will be experience,” and “will be use” should use appropriate passive forms such as “will undergo” or “will be used.” There are also agreement and article problems in “the outdoor courts which is” and “university sports centre will be experience.” The final sentence is run together with missing spacing and punctuation. Practise accurate future and passive constructions, and divide complex descriptions into shorter, controlled sentences.
