Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address the task and give a clear overview of the main transformation: the centre expands to incorporate the former outdoor courts, while several central facilities remain in place. You also report many relevant changes, including the leisure pool, sports hall, dance studios, shop and café. Most locations are broadly consistent with the plans. However, some details are imprecise or misreported: the gym extends east along the northern side, but the response says it extends “up to a Dance studio”; the future south-east changing room and café are described with their positions reversed; and “a big boundary wall” is not clearly shown as a defining feature. More precise comparisons and accurate relative positions would make the account more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a description of the current plan and a paragraph on the future plan. This gives the reader a workable progression, and linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover” and “In addition” help connect details. However, the sequence within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in the future-plan paragraph, where several locations are introduced without a consistent route around the map. Some transitions are mechanical or repetitive, and references such as “another separate dance studio” and “the left side” are not always clear. Organising each plan systematically—for example, from the centre outward, then west and east—would strengthen the progression and make the comparisons easier to track.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “layout,” “redevelopment,” “located,” “north side” and “south west corner,” so the reader can generally identify the facilities and their positions. However, the range and control of vocabulary are limited by repeated general wording such as “sport centre,” “area” and “change,” as well as inaccurate or unnatural combinations: “organizing each and every sports activity on right places,” “under a one roop,” and “the right outdoor court area will completely reserve.” Spelling errors, including “univeristy,” “activies,” “acitivty” and “chaning,” also reduce clarity and precision. Use standard facility names and concise location phrases, such as “the centre expands to include the former courts” and “a café is added in the south-east corner.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and longer sentences, and some relationships are expressed clearly, as in “At the middle of the sport centre 25 meter pool is located, while the north side is occupy by a Gym.” However, many sentences contain errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. Examples include “the current sports centre is very basic and have,” “the updated one will be look like,” and “the Gym area will expended.” Several clauses are also awkwardly joined or incomplete, such as “Current view of the sports center, there is…” and “by just right side a sports shop will be seen.” These errors sometimes make the intended relationships harder to understand. Practise accurate passive forms and complete sentence patterns, while checking subject–verb agreement and tense consistency.
