Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main overall change—the centre will expand—and report several relevant features, including the new leisure pool, sports hall, dance studios, and sports shop. You also correctly locate the existing pool and gym and note the outdoor courts on both sides. However, coverage is partial: the central changing room, seating, and reception remain in place, but this is not clearly reported, and the planned changing rooms and café are not accurately described. The statement that people can enter “on Entrance Cafe on East side” misrepresents the plan: the entrance remains at the south reception, while the café is in the south-east. A clearer overview and more precise comparison of retained and added facilities would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic progression from the present layout to future changes, and paragraph breaks help distinguish these stages. Linking expressions such as “To embark on,” “Going into the depth,” and “Additionally” show an effort to connect ideas. However, the progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and several connectors feel mechanical or do not clarify the relationship between details. For example, “broadly speaking” interrupts the description of the outdoor courts, while the final sentence combines the entrance, café, and sports shop in a confusing way. Organise the comparison by area—central features, west side, then east side—and use simpler, more precise transitions and references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “Outdoor courts,” “Sports hall,” “Dance studio,” and “Leisure pool,” so the reader can identify many facilities. There are also attempts at less common phrasing, such as “at a fleeting glance” and “Going into the depth,” but these expressions are unnatural in this report and do not improve precision. Noticeable spelling errors in “Lesisure” and “Recpetion,” along with awkward combinations such as “Sports ground” and “Gym area,” reduce accuracy and can slow the reader. Choose straightforward, accurate map language and check spelling carefully; terms such as “sports centre,” “located,” and “will be added” are more suitable and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including comparisons introduced by “while” and additions linked with “in addition to this.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “Sports ground have Pool,” “two Dance studio will be add,” and “which located on East side,” where agreement, verb forms, and sentence structure are not controlled. Articles and prepositions are also often missing, as in “on North side” and “on West.” Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, for example, “The gym is north of the pool” and “Two dance studios will be added along the eastern wall.”
