Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main contrast between the simpler present centre and its expanded future layout, and your overview correctly notes that the 25m pool and reception remain in place. You also report several key additions, including the leisure pool, sports hall, dance studios, shop and café, as well as the removal of the outdoor courts. This covers the task well, with some features more fully described than others. However, a few spatial details are unclear or inaccurate: the future changing rooms are not simply “at the bottom of” the dance studios, and the new south-west changing room and shop are distinct from the south-east changing room and café. More precise comparisons of where facilities are added would make the account more complete and developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview and two paragraphs describing the plans. This gives the reader a generally coherent route from the present layout to the proposed changes. You also use linking expressions such as “Overall,” “In contrast” and “Moreover.” However, some connections are mechanical or do not clearly express the relationship between ideas. For example, “Whereas” begins a sentence without a contrasting clause, and “Then” does not clearly signal a sequence in a map description. The second body paragraph’s reference to “the bottom of it” is also unclear. Grouping the future additions by west, centre and east, and using precise location references, would improve progression and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing plans, including “layout,” “redevelopment,” “located,” “constructed” and “removed.” These choices show an adequate range for the task, and the reader can generally understand which facilities you mean. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “area become more developed,” “more new modern facilities,” and “area for Gym will be increased.” Capitalisation is also inconsistent for common nouns such as “Changing room” and “Dance studio.” Aim for more precise planning vocabulary and natural collocations—for example, describe the building as expanding and facilities as being added, extended or replaced. This would make the account clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons with “Whereas” and “In contrast,” and you use future forms to describe the proposed plan. However, control is uneven, particularly in longer sentences. Examples include “the area become more developed,” “reception will also found at same position,” and “two Dance studio will be located,” where verb forms, articles or agreement are incorrect. The sentence beginning “Then, another three area…” also has several grammatical problems that make the relationships harder to follow. Use consistent present tense for the existing plan and “will be” or “is planned to be” for future changes, while checking subject–verb agreement and articles. Shorter, carefully controlled sentences would help.
