Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both plans and identify the main transformation: the centre expands, the outdoor courts disappear, and new facilities are added. The overview also contrasts the simpler present layout with the more developed future one, while the descriptions of the pool, gym, seating and reception show which features remain. This meets the task well, and the mention of new changing rooms, a sports shop and a café adds relevant detail. Some points are less fully or precisely reported: the sports hall is east of the seating, while the two dance studios are along the eastern wall; these relationships are blurred in “on the east side.” The gym’s eastward extension and the locations of the new rooms could also be clearer. More exact spatial comparisons would strengthen the report.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on the current plan and one on the future plan. This makes the comparison easy to follow at a broad level. You also use basic linking words such as “Overall,” “But” and “In the east side” to signal relationships. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear, particularly the repeated use of “or” in lists and comparisons, as in “changing room or seating” and “west or east corner.” The long final paragraph combines several changes without a clear sequence, so readers must work to distinguish the west-side additions from the eastern ones. Grouping details by side and using precise references such as “whereas” or “to the east of” would improve progression and cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for describing plans, including “situated,” “replaced,” “additional,” “reception” and “dance studios.” These terms help communicate the main changes, and the range is adequate for the task. However, several choices are imprecise or repetitive: “significant changes” appears more than once, “modern look” is vague, and “constructed” is not the most natural verb for describing a room added to a plan. Phrases such as “huge leisure pool” and “Gym space is increased” could be expressed more precisely and formally. There are also word-form and collocation problems, including “sport centre” and “sports shops or cafe.” Aim for accurate facility names and concise map language, rather than relying on general evaluative words such as “huge” and “significant.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with contrasts, for example, “25 meter pool is on the same middle …, Gym space is increased …” and “But outdoor courts replaced by Huge Leisure pool…”. This shows some range, but control is uneven. Errors include subject–verb agreement in “The two diagrams illustrates” and “Outdoor courts is,” missing articles in “25 metre pool is situated,” and incorrect verb forms in “there are significant changes are occurs” and “outdoor courts replaced.” Some long sentences also lack clear grammatical boundaries, making the relationships between clauses difficult to follow. Use a reliable pattern for each comparison, such as “The courts are replaced by…” or “The gym is extended…,” and check articles, agreement and tense. More accurate sentence construction would make your details easier to understand.
