Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify that the plans show a present and future sports centre and mention several genuine additions, including a leisure pool, sports shop, sports hall, café and dance studios. However, the response gives only a limited account of the actual layout changes. It incorrectly suggests that the gym, pool and “other things” are all the same, without explaining that the gym extends eastward or that the building expands over the former outdoor courts. The overview that the future centre is “better” is an unsupported judgement rather than a summary of its main changes. The response also falls two words short of the 150-word minimum. To improve, describe the key locations and changes accurately and provide a clear, factual overview.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has paragraph breaks and a basic sequence: an introduction, an overview, a brief description of changes, and a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of structure. However, the ideas do not progress clearly, and the final paragraph repeats earlier points rather than adding a useful comparison. Linking phrases such as “Overall,” “Regarding,” and “In conclusion” are present, but some are awkwardly used and do not make the relationships between details clear. For example, the sentence beginning “Regarding in university sports centre” does not clearly connect the unchanged features with the additions. Organise the response around the overall expansion, then describe the western and eastern changes in separate, logically ordered sections.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary is sufficient to name several relevant facilities, including “leisure pool,” “sports shop,” “sports hall,” “dance studio,” and “cafe.” However, the range is basic and repetitive, with “build,” “things,” “same,” and “sport centre” used repeatedly. Some word choices make the meaning unclear: “the sports centre look after redevelopment better then present” does not express the comparison naturally, and “outdoor is not build” is an imprecise description of the outdoor courts. Use more precise terms for plan changes, such as “remain,” “be replaced by,” “be extended,” and “be added.” Check spelling and word forms, including “than” rather than “then,” and use “sports centre” consistently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts a few longer sentences and uses basic present and future forms, but grammatical control is weak and errors frequently affect clarity. For example, “university sports centre look after redevelopment” lacks an article and has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “some new things will be build” uses the wrong verb form. The sentence “Regarding in university sports centre Gym, pool and other things are same” has an incomplete structure and missing articles. Most sentences rely on simple patterns, and attempts to connect several ideas often become difficult to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and passive forms such as “will be built,” then use short, complete sentences to describe what remains and what changes.
