Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main purpose of the plans and report several key features accurately, including the central 25m pool, the gym to its north, the reception to the south, and the removal of the outdoor courts. You also note that some existing facilities remain and that a leisure pool is planned on the west side. However, the overview is not sufficiently clear about the scale and pattern of redevelopment. Some details are inaccurate: the changing rooms are not both in the south-east and south-west, and the café and sports shop are not on each side of the entrance. The sports hall and the gym’s eastward expansion are also omitted. A more precise overview and accurate selection of the new facilities would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a generally understandable sequence: it describes the current layout first and then moves to the future plan. Paragraphing supports this basic organisation, and phrases such as “In the first picture” and “In the future” help signal the change in time. However, some links are mechanical or unclear, particularly “Where as” and “Respectively,” which does not clearly connect the facilities to their locations. Several ideas are crowded into long sentences, and the final sentence gives an inaccurate relationship between the café, shop and entrance. Grouping details by area—for example, west, centre and east—and using clearer location references would improve progression and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for describing a plan, including “expand,” “amenities,” “leisure pool,” “outdoor courts” and “southeast corner.” This gives you enough language to communicate the general changes. However, the range is limited and some choices are imprecise or repetitive: “add some more facilities” is vague, while “on the back side of pool” is not a natural way to describe a position on a plan. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “develpomnet,” “cenre” and “changind,” which reduce accuracy. Use more precise location phrases and verbs such as “extend,” “replace” and “be situated,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and the reader can usually understand the main comparisons. However, errors occur frequently in sentence construction, articles, agreement and punctuation. For example, “on south side of that pool has reception” lacks a clear grammatical subject, while “two dance studio” needs a plural noun. The sentence beginning “Where as” is also an incomplete construction, and “the pool, seating area, entrance and changing room will be the same” needs clearer grammatical framing to express that they remain in place. Commas are often missing or misplaced, as in “located.Outside” and “However ,”. Practise complete clauses and accurate plural and article forms before adding more complex structures.
