Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main change: the centre expands into the former outdoor-court areas and gains facilities such as a leisure pool, sports hall, dance studios, shop and café. You also note that the 25m pool, reception and seating remain in place, giving the response a relevant overview. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear. The outdoor courts are not combined into one area; they are replaced as the building expands. The leisure pool is not described as having an attached changing room, and the future plan adds changing rooms in several locations. The account of the eastern and south-eastern layout is also imprecise. More exact comparisons of where facilities are added would make the main features clearer and more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, a description of the current plan and a paragraph on the future layout. This gives the reader a sensible route through the comparison. Linking phrases such as “Overall,” “In current plan” and “According to the future plan” help signal the stages. However, some connections between locations are difficult to follow, particularly “sports shop on west of the enterence and Cafe on the other hand” and “Two dance studios are added in the east with a changing room and sports hall in opposite direction.” The overview also groups several additions together without explaining their positions. Use clearer spatial references and connect each facility to a specific side or area to improve progression and cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for describing plans, including “arrangement,” “infrastructure,” “added,” “centre” and “remains the same.” These choices show an adequate range for the task, and the reader can generally understand the intended changes. However, several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or informal, such as “combined into one big area,” “attached changing room” and “full fletched gym.” There are also spelling errors, including “inprovement,” “Enterence” and “mainarea,” which reduce precision. Aim for standard plan-description phrases such as “is replaced by,” “is located to the west of” and “is extended.” Check spelling carefully and choose terms that describe the facilities and their positions precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. For example, the overview combines several changes in one sentence, while the final paragraph contrasts future additions with facilities that remain. However, errors in agreement, articles and sentence construction occur in several places: “The plans depicts,” “the future plan show,” “The gym are will likely to become more wider,” and “pool and seating are stays the same.” Some sentences also have unclear or incomplete grammatical relationships, as in “first comes reception and seating area in east next to the pool.” Use consistent present and future forms, check singular–plural agreement, and simplify sentences when needed. More accurate control of these patterns would make the description easier to read.
