Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the broad change accurately: the centre will become larger and gain facilities, including a leisure pool, sports hall, café and dance studios. You also mention the current gym, reception, pool and outdoor courts, so the response is relevant to the plans. However, the comparison is only partly developed. Important changes and locations are missing or unclear: for example, the sports hall is east of the seating, the two studios are along the eastern wall, and new changing rooms and a sports shop are added in the south-west. The statement that there are “two dressing rooms” does not clearly distinguish the existing central changing room from the two new ones. A fuller overview and more precise reporting of the main spatial changes would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overall statement, and separate paragraphs for the present and future plans. The contrast markers “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the comparison, and the main ideas can generally be followed. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited: the current-plan paragraph ends abruptly after mentioning the outdoor courts, while the future-plan paragraph lists facilities without explaining their positions or how they relate to one another. Some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “In addition” and “moreover.” Organising details by area—for example, west side, centre and east side—would make the comparison clearer and improve cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “redevelopment,” “outdoor courts,” “leisure pool” and “sports hall,” which helps communicate the general subject. There is also an attempt to vary wording with “sports complex” and “sports centre.” However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “tertary,” “cureent,” “Liesure” and “intrusted.” Some expressions are imprecise or unnatural for describing a plan: “many other services for players as well as visitors also” and “dressing rooms were their for the athletes.” Use accurate facility names and location language consistently, such as “changing room,” “to the east of,” and “in the south-west corner,” rather than broad or conversational descriptions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple statements and more complex constructions, including “in between gym and reception is a swimming pool” and “as it contain a Liesure pool.” The intended meaning is usually recoverable, but errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or unclear. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “the two diagram shows” and “the centre carry,” missing articles in “holds a gym” and “in the north side,” and the incomplete final clause “two dressing rooms were their for the athletes.” The sentence ending “two outdoor courts,” also has faulty punctuation and leaves the thought unfinished. Practise accurate agreement, articles and complete sentence boundaries, then use a few controlled complex sentences to describe locations and changes.
