Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify several important features, including the pool, seating and reception remaining, and the addition of a leisure pool, dance studios, a café and shop-related facilities. However, the comparison is only partial and some details are inaccurate or unclear. The outdoor courts are replaced by indoor extensions; the dance studios are on the eastern side, while the leisure pool is on the west, so describing the courts as changing into these facilities “on east and west” muddles their locations. The gym also extends eastward rather than simply staying unchanged, and the future plan adds a sports hall, which is omitted. The overview is limited, and the changing-room description is difficult to interpret. A clearer summary of the overall expansion and the main additions would make the report more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has some organisation: it begins with the entrance and reception, then describes the outdoor areas and several facilities, using connectors such as “Furthermore,” “In addition,” and “At present.” However, the information does not develop in a clear overall sequence, and the paragraphing does not distinguish the present layout from the future plan. Some links are mechanical or confusing; for example, “outdoor courts on both sides of center after redevelopment” does not clearly connect the current courts to their replacements. The long sentence about changing rooms combines several locations without clear relationships. Grouping the current features first, followed by the planned changes from west to east, would improve progression and make references easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a basic range of relevant terms, including “entrance,” “Reception,” “25 m pool,” “outdoor courts,” and “Dance studio,” so the reader can recognise the subject. However, vocabulary is repetitive and several choices are imprecise or awkward, sometimes making the intended feature unclear. For example, “sports area” does not identify the sports hall, while “the right outdoor courts will be change into Dance studio” is not a natural way to describe the redevelopment. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, such as “auidence” and “shoping.” Use precise facility names from the plan and practise common map-reporting phrases such as “is replaced by,” “is extended,” and “is added.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts some longer sentence forms, but control is limited and errors occur frequently, sometimes making relationships between features difficult to understand. Subject–verb agreement is incorrect in “The plans illustrates,” and future forms are often faulty: “will be change” and “will be adding” should use appropriate passive constructions such as “will be changed” and “will be added.” Articles and prepositions are also inconsistent, as in “at the entrance of sport center” and “in north side.” Several sentences run together or lack clear punctuation, particularly the sentence beginning “At present changing room near the pool.” Build accuracy first with clear present and future passive sentences, and check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries before adding more complex clauses.
