Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main transformation: the centre expands, the outdoor courts disappear, and new facilities are added. You also report several accurate relationships, including the pool remaining central, the gym expanding, and the sports hall and dance studios being added on the eastern side. This gives the response a clear overview and covers the key changes. Some details are less fully or precisely described: for example, the future plan has two additional changing rooms, one in the south-west and one in the south-east, but “changing rooms behind them” does not make their locations clear. The leisure pool is west of the central changing room, rather than simply “to the west of changing room.” More precise comparisons and a fuller account of the new layout would strengthen the summary.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response follows a broadly sensible order, moving from the overall expansion to southern additions, retained central features, and eastern facilities. This helps the reader understand the main changes. However, the information is presented as one continuous paragraph, and several transitions are awkward or mechanically joined: “Moreover changing rooms behind them” is a fragment, while “However” links ideas that are not clearly contrasting. The repeated use of “In previous plan,” “in future plan,” and directional phrases also makes the progression feel list-like. Grouping the description into an overview and separate paragraphs for the western and eastern changes, with clearer links between sentences, would make the organisation more coherent and the relationships easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use relevant vocabulary for describing a plan, including “expanded,” “remains same,” “added,” and “removed,” and the reader can generally identify the facilities being discussed. There is also some useful directional language, such as “west,” “east,” and “North-east.” However, several choices are imprecise or unnatural for this task: “front of hall” and “behind them” do not clearly describe the plan, and “huge size leisure pool” is an awkward way to describe the new facility. “Reception desk” is also less accurate than “reception” for the labelled area. Aim for precise spatial phrases and natural collocations, such as “in the south-west corner” or “a larger leisure pool.” This would improve clarity while retaining your relevant range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and most of the intended comparisons can be understood. However, some errors in articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries remain. For example, “map of university’s sports centre” needs an article, and “Outdoor courts … is removed” has a plural subject with a singular verb. “Will be build” should use the past participle, while “two new dance studio … is present” needs plural agreement and a consistent future reference. The sentence beginning “Moreover changing rooms behind them” is incomplete, and capitalising “However” after a comma creates a faulty join. Check articles and subject–verb agreement, and use full sentences with accurate punctuation to make your comparisons more controlled.
