Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify several relevant features, including the central 25m pool, the gym to its north, the reception to its south, and the outdoor courts on both sides. You also recognise that the future plan adds a leisure pool, sports shop, sports hall, café, changing rooms and dance studios. However, the comparison is only partial: you do not clearly state that the building expands over the former outdoor courts, that the original pool and central facilities remain, or that the gym extends eastward. Some locations are unclear or inaccurate; for example, the sports shop is described as east of the pool, although it is in the south-west area. A clearer overview of the main changes and more precise reporting of positions would make the summary more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is an attempt to organise the response into a description of the current plan followed by the future plan, which gives the reader a basic framework. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow because many details are joined in long, loosely connected sequences. Repeated linkers such as “furthermore,” “moreover” and “in addition” do not always show the relationship between features, and phrases such as “these planing and chargings” leave the final point unclear. Use separate, clearly structured sentences and group information by area—for example, the western additions, then the eastern additions. This would make the comparison easier to track and reduce the need for repeated transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some task-relevant vocabulary, including “layout,” “reception,” “outdoor courts,” “leisure pool” and “sports hall,” so the reader can identify many of the facilities being described. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and word-form errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “searting,” “Morvere,” “out courts” and “chargings.” Some phrases are also imprecise, including “on the place of” and “on the mid of the centre.” Aim to use accurate facility names and standard location phrases consistently. For instance, “replaces the outdoor courts” and “in the centre” would communicate the changes more naturally and precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to describe locations and future changes, but sentence structures are mostly incomplete or run together, and errors frequently make relationships between features hard to interpret. For example, “north side of pool a gym area here” lacks a clear verb and sentence structure, while “the future plans … will developed” has an incorrect verb form. Articles and agreement are also unreliable, as in “a outdoor courts are also here,” and punctuation does not consistently separate ideas. Practise building complete sentences with a subject and verb, such as “The gym is north of the pool” and “A leisure pool will replace the western courts.” A few accurate simple sentences would improve clarity before adding more complex comparisons.
