Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response gives a clear overview of the main redevelopment: the centre expands, the outdoor courts are replaced by indoor facilities, and several central features remain. It also reports the key changes on both sides, including the leisure pool and sports shop to the west and the sports hall, dance studios, café and changing room to the east. These details are broadly consistent with the plans. To make the account more precise, clarify that the gym extends eastward along the north side, and describe the eastern additions’ positions more accurately: the two studios are along the eastern wall, while the café and changing room occupy the south-east corner. The phrase “biggest part” is not clearly supported by the plan and could be replaced with a neutral description.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response is organised into an overview followed by a paragraph on retained features and eastern changes, then one on the western additions. This gives the reader a generally clear route through the plans, and linking phrases such as “Overall,” “In addition,” and “Similarly” help connect ideas. The middle paragraph, however, combines unchanged features with several eastern changes, so its focus shifts. The sentence beginning “In addition to a new changing room…” is also a fragment, interrupting the flow. For stronger progression, group all retained features together, then describe the west and east developments in separate, parallel paragraphs. Use references such as “the eastern extension” consistently so the locations remain easy to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
There is an adequate range of vocabulary for describing the redevelopment, including “converted,” “expanding,” “facilities,” and “constructed.” These choices communicate the main changes, and the writer attempts some less common wording. However, several expressions are imprecise or awkward for a plan description: “the future plan of the reconstruction,” “will be utilized adding,” and “renovated” do not describe the changes naturally. Spelling errors such as “facilties,” “diffrent,” and “chaning” also reduce accuracy. Choose direct, conventional terms for map changes, such as “redeveloped,” “replaced by,” and “added,” and check spelling carefully. Avoid unsupported evaluative wording such as “biggest part” unless the plan clearly establishes that comparison.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response attempts a mix of simple and more complex structures, including “Overall…” and the clause describing the gym’s expansion. Meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors remain. In “have will not be modified,” the auxiliary verbs are incorrectly combined; use “will not be modified.” The sentence “In addition to a new changing room and a cafe constructing…” is incomplete and needs a main verb, for example, “A changing room and a café will also be added.” The opening phrase “the future plan of the reconstruction of the current…” is also awkwardly structured. Practise forming complete sentences with clear subjects and consistent future passive forms (“will be added,” “will be converted”) to improve control.
